Mrs. Henry Lawrence Strother Sayer, 100, of Lake Crossing Health Center, Appling, Georgia, formerly of Washington, Georgia, entered into rest on Monday, June 26, 2023.

Henry was born in Tignall, Georgia on June 3, 1923 to Henry Lawrence and Virginia Elizabeth Bennett Strother. She was married to the late Mr. Emory Sayer and was a member of the Washington First United Methodist Church.

Henry lived most of her life in Washington, where she graduated high school and then attended UGA for a time. She then worked as a receptionist in Dr. Charles Wills' office, and was an avid reader.

She is survived by a niece, Claudia V. Pitts (John Mell), of Elberton; three great nieces, Karen West (Tommy), Tracie Smith (Martin), Tiffany Pitts Haltom (Mark); and three great nephews, Tony Pitts (Paula), Keith Pate (Michelle), and Larry Vinson.

Henry was preceded in death by her first husband Mr. Ethan Brown and by her second husband, Mr. James Moone.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Hopkins Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Tim Adams officiating. Pallbearers will be Keith Pate, Martin Smith, Larry Vinson, David Luke Vinson, Jordan Germany, and John Wheeler. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery, Washington. The family will receive visitors Saturday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel.
