Sudden Death of Mrs. Chaney

Mrs. William Chaney died last Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Miller, at Darwin. Her death was very sudden, probably from heart disease. She had gone to visit her daughter, and was apparently in her usual health. Funeral services were held Sunday at Clarksville, conducted by Rev. G. L. Huggins, and interment in the Clarksville cemetery.

Catherine Rayhel was born in Clark county, Dec. 6, 1852; died Feb. 16, 1916. She was united in marriage to William Chaney in 1872. To them were born eight children, all of whom are living - Will Chaney, of Dudley, Mrs. Lena Miller of Darwin, Dell Scott of Vermillion, Elva Smithley, Clarkville, Martha Denhie, Macon, Ga., Francis Millhouse, Clarksville, Cotnea Tharp, Darwin, and John Chaney, Terre Haute, and 16 grand children.

About sixteen years ago Mrs. Chaney united with the United Brethren church at Grace Chapel and was a member there at her death. She has one sister living, Mrs. Sarah J. Mel??ey, of Paris, one brother, George Rayhel, of Marshall, and one half-brother, James McCleary, of Marshall, besides many other relatives and friends.
