SUICIDE—A WOMAN THE CAUSE
We learn that Ferdinand Hachez, Sen., an early settler of New Holstein, who removed to Minnesota about two years ago, committed suicide at New Ulm in that State on the 10th inst., under the following circumstances.
It seems he formed an affection for a buxom widow and she to all appearances, favored his suit, but when asked to marry him she point blank refused. He then became excited and threatened to kill himself. This threat she treated lightly and tauntingly told him he had not courage to do so. He immediately went and procured a pistol and shot himself first in the left side and then in the head. There is no end to the mischief a woman can do towards unfortunate man.
