Harold D. Hoover, 68, of R. R. Alexandria, died Thursday, September 10 at Coatsville. He was the son of Daniel and Maude Florence Veatch Hoover. Hoover was married to Earlaine Leggett on September 29, 1948 at Lancaster, Mo.
He was an army veteran in World War II. He was a resident of Alexandria for the last six years, moving from Bettendorf, Iowa in 1981 when he retired from Sivyer Steel Casting C. where he had worked for 30 years.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wayland, Mo. and Sivyer Steel Diamond Club of Bettendorf, Ia.
He is survived by his wife, one son, Dr. Dan Hoover of Bettendorf, Ia., three sisters, Mrs. Mary Thoeny of Keokuk, Ia., Mrs. Hazel Grady of Aurora, Co., Mrs. Helen Bentler of Kansas City, Mo., three brothers, Ralph Hoover of Glenwood, Mo., Gerald Hoover of Burlington, Ia., Russell Hoover of Newport, Oregon, and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 1987 at the Schmidt-Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Eddie Rupe officiating.
Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Keokuk.
