Joyce Sturgis McConnell Mrs. McConnell's Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 PM Friday, August 3, 2018 at Catawba Baptist Church,1450 South Anderson Road, Rock Hill, SC with Dr. Ron Richardson officiating. Burial will be private in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:00 to 4:00 pm in the church sanctuary.
Mrs. McConnell was born June 29, 1929 to the late Benjamin Franklin Sturgis and Bleeker Irene Franklin Sturgis. She was the widow of Lawrence "Bill" McConnell, to whom she was married for almost 60 years. She was a beloved, caring, devoted and wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Long time member of Catawba Baptist Church.
Mrs. McConnell is survived by her children, son, Frank McConnell and wife Kathy of Rock Hill; daughter, Susan McConnell Saverance and husband Ronnie of Rock Hill; daughter-in-law, Sandy McConnell of Rock Hill; along with eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her son, Lawrence "Larry" McConnell; four brothers and a sister.
