Erwin Short
Short, Erwin 87 of Roseburg passed away Nov. 1, 1982 at his residence. He was born Aug 9, 1895 in Moscow Idaho. On April 20, 1930 in Roseburg he married Esther Miller. Mr. Short had been a resident of the Roseburg area since the early 30's and was employed with the City of Roseburg Police Department. He was a member of the Laurel Masonic Lodge # 11 A P & A M, the Shrine Club, the Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion & the Veterans of W W I, Past Commander & Adjutanti and the First Christian Church of Roseburg. In 1956 he was awarded the Citizen of the year Award for his involvement in the American Legion Baseball Program. Esther Short Park in Vancouver Wash. was named after his pioneer grandmother. Survivors include his wife Esther Short of Roseburg, 2 daughters, Marie Willits of Roseburg & Loretta Short of Eugene, 1 granddaughter, Cathy Tracy & 1 great granddaughter, Lauren Tracy both of Eugene, numerous nieces & nephews. Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1982 at 10 A.M. in the Long & Shukle Memorial Chapel. Rev. Bob Shells of the Beavercreek Christian church, Beavercreek Ore will officiate with participation by the Laurel Masonic lodge #11 A F & A M . Private interment will follow in Roseburg Memorial Gardens. Those who wish may make contributions to the Little River Christian Camp of the American Legion Baseball Program. These may be left at Long & Shukle Chapel.
