1st Lt Allen was a crew member on a B-29A Superfortress Bomber assigned to the 372nd Bomber Squadron, 307th Bomber Wing based at the Kadean Airbase in Okinawa.
While enroute to a bombing mission over N. Korea, radar contact with Allen's aircraft was lost. Initially Allen was listed as Missing in Action. On January 29, 1953, his status was changed to presumed dead, body not recovered. Allen's name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing.
