Canton-Samuel L. Coffey, 58, of 24796 N Co Hwy 23, died at 8:40 PM ,Wednesday December 9, 2009, at Graham Hospital in Canton.
He was born July 21, 1951 in Canton, to Samuel E. and Bonita J. (Rutledge) Coffey.
He married Sherry L. Babcock on August 5, 1973, in Canton. She survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Samantha (Joe) Preston of Washington, IL and a son Shane L. Coffey of Canton, brother, Mike (Keena) Coffey of Norris and sister Diane (Rod) Hickman of Canton. Samuel graduated from Bradley University in 1973.. He worked as an engineer at Komatsu in Peoria for 30 years retiring in 2005. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Canton.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He donated his body to the Anatomical Gift Association. Memorial services will be Saturday, December 12, 2009. at 11:00 AM, at the First Presbyterian Church, there will be no visitation. Rev. Steve Knudson will officiate. Lunch to follow at the church.
