Alvin “Al” Henry Dyk, aged 68, of Holland, died Saturday, February 3, 1996 at his home.
Al was a member of Christ Community Church, Spring Lake. Before joining the church in Spring Lake, he was a charter member of First Presbyterian Church in Holland, where he served as and elder and deacon.
Al was a City Councilman at Large in the early 70’s, and was past member of the Saugatuck Board of Appeals. He was the first appointed member of the Holland License Bureau, and one of the founders of Holland Litho Service.
Al was a veteran, serving the United States Navy.
Al was preceded in death by a brother, Frederic Dyk,
Surviving are his wife, Mae; step children, Kevin Quigley of Holland, Dawn (Matt) Campbell of Hamilton, and Jody Rozema of Zeeland; four grandchildren; sisters, Wilma (Marvin) De Jonge of Muskegon; Joann (Harvey) Wolbert of Zeeland, and Ella (Robert) Topp of Grabd Rapids; sister-in-law, Helen Dyk of Florida..
Al is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins..
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, february 7, 1996 at 1:30 p.m. at the Northwood Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Homes, 295 Douglas Ave. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
