Thomazin Services At Catholic Church
Kathryn Anna Thomazin, the daughter of Peter John Koerber and Nellie C. (Skeels) Koerber, was born June 22, 1913 on her family farm east of St. Edward, and died Saturday morning, March 19, 1994, at her home southeast of St. Edward. She was 80 years old. Mrs. Thomazin attended Woodville School District No. 59 and graduated from St. Edward High School in 1932. She received an additional two years of education at Colorado University and Greeley State Teacher's College. She taught five years in the Woodville Community, one year at Marshland, Nebraska, and her final year of teaching at the O.K. School north of Monroe. On June 1, 1939, she was united in marriage to Wilber E. Thomazin at the Catholic parsonage in Genoa. The couple resided their entire married life in the Woodville Community between St. Edward and Genoa. In addition to being a long-time member of St. Edward Catholic Church and Altar Society, she was a member of the Early Hour and 3-H Extension Clubs and Albion Area Art Club.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, Ruby; and four brothers, Kenneth, Raymond, Keith and Franklin. Services were held on Tuesday, March 22, 1994, at 10:30 a.m. from the St. Edward Catholic Church. Sister Agatha Marie served as organist and singers were Diane Reardon and Mark Jensen. Burial was at St. Edward Catholic Cemetery.
