A. Leroy Baker, 63, North Manchester, died at his home yesterday.
A general contractor, he was retired from Peabody Seating Co. and Smith Heating and Plumbing.
He was born May 7, 1909, in Wabash County to George and Amy Flora Baker and lived all his life in the North Manchester area. He was a member of the Nazarene Church there.
He married Laura Jacqueline Sweares March 24, 1929, she survives. Also surviving are four children, Alfred Baker of Dublin, Richard Baker of Wabash, Jacqueline Lockard, New Haven, and Ronald Baker, Fort Wayne; four brothers and sisters, Mrs. Virgil Pyle, North Manchester, Dorothy Hoover, Columbia City, Sherman Baker, Roann, and Leo Baker, Garrett; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Bender Funeral Home in North Manchester after 1 p.m. today. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, the Rev. Theron Hanes officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
