Ivan L. Crall

Ivan L. Crall, 99, of 718 Rogers St., died Sunday morning in Bucyrus Community Hospital, where he had been a patient since last Wednesday.

Mr. Crall was born April 8, 1880 in Liberty Township to William O. and Louisa (Dirmeyer) Crall. April 23, 1905 he was married to the former Ellen Kuhn, deceased.

Surviving are a son, Fred J., Key Colony Beach, Fla., a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Virginia) Kennedy, Bucyrus, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Carl (Alice) Volk, Bucyrus. Preceding him in death were an infant son, a brother and a sister.

Early in his life Mr. Crall taught school for four years in Holmes Township, then was principal at Norton Elementary School for four years, after which he transferred to Bucyrus High School for eight years where he started the commercial department. IN 1929 he became the owner of City Coal and Building Supply, which he operated until his retirement Jan. 1, 1943.

The area resident had lived on a farm in Liberty Township until moving to Bucyrus in 1903, living in his home on Rogers Street since 1917. He attended rural schools, Ohio Northern University and Columbus Business College.

He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and the following masonic bodies: Bucyrus Lodge 139 F.&A.M., Bucyrus Chapter 160 R.A.M., Bucyrus Council 83 R.&S.M.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Wise Funeral Home. The Rev. H. A. Hartmann will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Calling hours are after Tuesday noon at the funeral home where the family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Masonic services will be Tuesday at 6:45 p.m. Those desiring to make memorial contributions may do so to St. John's United Church of Christ.
