Martin Mitchel Fortner of Lometa died as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident Oct. 18, 2007, between Adamsville and Lometa. He was 24.

Funeral services were Oct. 21 at First United Methodist Church in Lampasas with the Revs. J.W. Hutcherson and George Lumpkin officiating.

Mr. Fortner was born April 10, 1983, in Lampasas, the son of Martin and Sharon Bailey Fortner.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a carpenter and his hobbies included anything outdoors, including hunting and golf.

Survivors include a daughter, Mikaila Fortner, of Lometa; his parents of Lometa; a sister, Stephanie Clouse, and husband, Joshua, of Lometa; a brother, Jason Fortner, of Oklahoma; a nephew, Jonathon Clouse; and numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives.

The family requested memorials be made to First United Methodist Church's Youth Group, Highway 190 East, Lampasas, TX 76550.
