"OBITUARY. Call not back the dear departed. Anchored safe where storms are o'er, On the border land we leave them, Soon to meet and part no more. When we leave this world of changes. When we leave this world of care.We shall find our missing loved ones In our Father's mansion fair. Mary E.,daughter of Daniel and Susan Wise, was born March 26, 1853, in Henry Co., Indiana, near old Petersburg, on the place now known as the Henry Wise farm. Passed away at her home near the White Branch church early in the morning of January 27, 1926, age 72 years, ten months and one day. She was the first child of a family of eight children, of whom three brothers and two sisters preceded her. At about fifteen years of age, she with her parents and family moved to the farm now owned and occupied by Lewis Himes, from which place she continued her schooling and education in the old Petersburg school. Not long after moving to this place one beautiful Sunday afternoon in June, about fifty - five years ago, she with her father and sister, Cristina, were united with the church of the Brethren and baptized by old Eld. Daniel Bowman in the branch near their house. She has ever since, all these years, lived a consistent exemplary Christlife. November 6, 1873, she was united in marriage to Boater Bales with whom she lived happily a faithful and devoted companion, until March 12, 1900, when Brother Bales was called home. There having been no children born to them they proved themselves friends, kind hearted and true to homeless and orphan children taking into their home a number of them whom they loved and treated them as lovingly as any parents do their own. Among them we mention three Harve Kindrick, now of Alhambra, California, the late Pearl Hatfield, who died at LaVerne, California and Letha Williams, now Mrs. Everett Study. About twenty -two years ago she received Everett into their home with the same loving regard. This, as she often said, was a great blessing. saying did not know, what would become of her if it were not for Everett and Letha. She said never did Everett give her one unkind word. She had been afflicted with heart trouble at times for a number of years. but the last twelve months she gradually became weaker until the end came. Besides the loved ones mentioned she leaves, to mourn her departure, two brothers, Henry S. Wise, of Middletown Indiana, Levi D. Wise, of North. Manchester, Indiana, four nephews, five nieces and a great number of cousins and other distant relatives. It is sad that one we cherish,' Should betaken from our home. But the joys that do not perish - Live in memory alone. Allthe years we've spent together, All the happy hours, , Shall be cherished inremembrance. Fragrant sweet from - memories flowers. The pall bearers were:" . . v Lewis Himes, Charles - Bowman, Walter. Clapper, Fred Shock, Chas.Burgess and Ben j., Hawkins - 'w . - - CARD OF THANKS. We wish to thank theneighbors and friends for their kindness love and sympathy so nobly given in this Itime of great sorrow and grief: - Also, would we thank the ministers, the Bowman quartet, the pallbearers and all who assisted in any way Everett Study: Letha Study."
