Catherine Durant of Granbury, 86, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016, in Dallas. Funeral: 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. Interment: Acton Cemetery. Visitation: 3 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Catherine was born August 2, 1929, in Acton, Texas, to James Alvie and Jewel Henslee Westbrook. SCatherine Durant of Granbury, 86, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016, in Dallas. Funeral: 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. Interment: Acton Cemetery. Visitation: 3 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Catherine was born August 2, 1929, in Acton, Texas, to James Alvie and Jewel Henslee Westbrook. She married Kenneth Durant, April 27, 1946, in Granbury. Lived in Mineral Wells for 10 years. She was events coordinator for Prestonwood Baptist Church and sang in the choir. She loved to water-ski and she and friend Jimmy Montgomery skied every inch of Possum Kingdom lake. She also bowled in a league. She was affectionately known as “Pud” and will be missed by all.
Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers and a sister.
Survivors: Husband, Kenneth Durant; son, Jerry Durant and wife, Tami; daughter, Tammy Durant; grandchildren, Brandon Durant, Brittany Durant; sisters-in-law, Billie Westbrook, Joy Loftin and husband, James, Patsy Brown and husband, Kenneth; and several nieces and nephews.
Wiley Funeral Home made arrangements.
