He was the son of Wm. Ambrose Chaffee and Ellen Amanda Corbin Chaffee.

His grandmother was not Rhoda Carbin, but rather Rhoda Lloyd Sutton Corbin from Providence.

She married Aaron Corbin in Warren Center. Her father was Charles Sutton, her grandfather Robert who once operated a ferry across the Providence River.

Robert and Charles were also involved (unsucessufully) in getting a dam and mill built at the "Lake O Meadow."

Barbara Yvonne Chaffee Roberts Hare born Oct 9, 1921, in the Bidlack house, Warren Center. Died Dec 1999 and buried in Coffeyville, Kansas. Husband Townsley Nelson Hare. Also buried Coffeyville.

Wm Ambrose had an older daughter with his first wife Della Catherine Evans --- Della Elma Chaffee, born in Oklahoma Territory, 1903, died in Ottawa, Kansas, ca. 1994 and is buried there. Married William Harland Ralston of and in Montrose. He is also buried in Ottawa.
