CLIFFORD LEE ALLYN, age 79, of Herrickville, Pa., died on Sunday, December 14, 1997 at the Wyalusing Personal Care Home, Wyalusing, Pa. where he had resided for the past year. Clifford was born March 17, 1918 in Warren Center, Bradford County, a son of the late George and Naomi Rogers Allyn. Me married the former Eva Louise Howland of Neath on April 25, 1940; she predeceased him on May 31, 1989. Clifford retired in 1984 from GTE Sylvania in Towanda, Pa. after 32 years of service. He was the group leader in the Tungsten Reduction section of the plant and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was also well-known throughout Bradford County for his well-winching ability. In earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and was very dedicated to his family and his employment.

Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law; Arthur W. and Alice W. Allyn, Wyalusing, Pa., Lee E. and Nancy K. Allyn, French Asylum, Pa., Rodney C. and Alice B. Allyn, Spring Lake, Pa.; two daughters and son-in-law, Mary L. Cobb, Herrickville, Pa., Ann and Kenneth J. Potter, Terytown, Pa.; a brother and sister-in-law, Wayne H. and Kathryn Allyn, Warren Center, Pa.; sisters, Genevieve A. Arey, Wysox, Pa.; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Floyd J. Cobb of Herrickville; brother, Merton E. Allyn of Warren Center; and a sister, Gertrude A. Jones of LeRaysville.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 1998 at 2 p.m. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Groverdale Lane, Wyalusing, Pa. with the Rev. Allen Hulslander, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Towanda, officiating. Interment will be in the Neath Cemetery, Neath, Pa. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials are directed to H.O.P.S.
