Obituary.
MRS. SARTWELL
Atlanta Abbey was born in Villanova, Chautauqua County, New York, May 7, 1838, and died in Northwood, Iowa, of grip followed by apoplexy, on February 12, 1911, at 1:15 a.m. aged 72 years, 9 months, and 5 days.
In the year 1856, she was married to L. Sartwell in New York state. To this union two children were born, Mrs. Emigine Nitey of Riverside, Calif., and a son George who, with her husband, preceeded her in death. Mrs. Sartwell enjoyed helping others. About a year ago, she came from California to help care for her brother, Mr. Alonzo Abbey, who died April 5, 1910. There remain of her immediate relatives one daughter, Mrs. Emigine Nitey; one brother, Mr. Villeroy Abbey; one sister, Mrs. Matthew Farmer; besides other relatives and friends. The funeral was held Monday, February 13, at the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Alonzo Abbey, and the interment was made at Sunset Rest Cemetery Northwood. Rev. C. K. Hudson, who conducted the funeral service, kindly furnished the foregoing notice of the departed sister.
