William was the son of John and Merel (Riggs) Anderson. He married Barb Dare. He later married Marilyn Kalebaugh on November 10, 1979 in Canton. She survives.
Also surviving are six children; Debbie (Bill) Roberts, William Anderson Jr., Kirk (Julie) Anderson, Terri (David) Williams, Kristie (John) Herrin, and Mark (Terri) Anderson; one brother, Rick (Pam) Anderson; and one sister, Fern (Walt) Smith.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister.
He retired from International Harvester where he worked in the foundry. He owned and operated the Brew n Cue in Canton. He was a member of the Salvation Army and was an avid Cardinals and Bears fan. He enjoyed building and racing stock cars with his sons.
