SHENANDOAH - George Everett Rucker, 80, of Shenandoah died Monday afternoon at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 15,1897 and was a son of the late Joseph C. and Mary Eppard Rucker.
He worked at Union Station in Washington, D.C. before retiring 15 years ago.
In 1923, he married Ollie D. Coakley, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Georgie Rucker Jr. of Oxon Hill, Md. and James W. Rucker of Keyser, W. Va.; two daughters, Norma J. Curry of Vienna and Mary Ann Edmond of Sterling Park; a sister, Lucille Davis of Portsmouth; eight grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at Warren G. Kyger Funeral Home by the Rev. Hudson P. Nuckols. Burial will be in Fields United Methodist Cemetery in Shenandoah.
The family will receive friends 7:30-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
