Deward Marvin Norman, 78, of Lostine died Aug. 6, 1982, at Wallowa Memorial Hospital.

Born in Pierce, Neb. on jan. 28, 1904, he was the son of Ira and Retta (White) Norman. He was married to his wife Lynn M. in February, 1925, in Hot Springs, S.D.

A retired rancher, he had been a resident of Wallowa County about 25 years.

He is survived by his wife Lynn of Lostine; sons Billy Dean of Lostine and Jimmy Dale of Anderson, Calif.; brothers Guy of Graham, Wash., and claude of Jermone, Idaho; sisters Hazel Albright and Fern Tverz, both of Chadron, Neb., five grandchidren and two great-granddaughters.

Services were held in the Bollman Chapel on Monday, Aug. 9, at 11 a.m. Wayne Pickens officiated. Clifford Collinsworth was soloist and Wanda Sorweide was organist. Muscial selection was "Beyond the Sunset."

Pallbearers were John Walker, Harve Hafer, Lyle Cherry, Fred Bornstedt, Lloyd Chapman and Scott and Dan Thompson. Interment was in the Enterprise Cemetery.
