Emery W. 'Charlie' Farrell, 95, died July 25, 2001, at Sterling Presbyterian Manor, Sterling. He was born May 26, 1906, at Lancaster, Mo., the son of Frank D. and Myrtle Farrell. A Sterling resident since 1926, he was a retired president of First National Bank, Sterling. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II. He belonged to United Methodist Church and American Legion, both of Sterling.
On Dec. 25, 1927, he married Eva N. Gatts at Greentop, Mo. She died Jan. 2 1998. Survivors include a son, Agoura, Calif., a daughter, Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Mary Vogel, Hawthorne, Calif., seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sterling Community Cemetery with the Rev. Glen Holman presiding.
