Simon T. Miller Jr., 89, of 912 Barclay Ave. died at 5:50 p.m. Thursday at Salem Community Hospital following a brief illness.
Born May 14, 1903 in Cleveland, he was the son of the late Simon Sr. and Katherine (Spack) Miller.
For 40 years Mr. Miller was employed at C. B. Hunt and Son, retiring Jan. 1, 1969 as assembly room foreman. He was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church and Salem Saxon Retirees and a charter member of Salem Saxon Lodge 19.
He was preceded in death April 24, 1979 by his wife, Minnie E. Fleischer Miller, whom he married June 4, 1924.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Esther) Lantz of Salem; a brother, Michael Miller of Salem; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Elsie Miller and Catherine Theiss.
