Marie Glenrose Bigelow, passed away January 6, 2014, at Plum Creek Healthcare Community, Lexington, Nebraska. Marie was born November 24, 1917, at Moorefield, Nebraska to Glen B. and Martha (Glenn) Melosh.
Marie was a 1935 graduate of Smithfield (NE.) High School and attended two years at The University of Nebraska at Kearney. She was united in marriage to Harold F. Bigelow on April 14, 1947, in Lexington, Nebraska. One son, James, was blessed to this marriage. Marie taught school for 9 years and then finished her career at Northwestern Bell telephone after 26 plus years. She enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, canning, and keeping her home. Family was very important to Marie. She and Harold enjoyed going to his Army Reunions and attending Travelogues. Marie also took care of her parents until their passing. Marie was a faithful member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Lexington, Nebraska as well as the Altar Society.
Marie is survived by: son, James Bigelow of North Highlands, California; grandchildren; John Bigelow of Denver, Colorado, Robin Bigelow of Sacramento, California, Heidi Bigelow of Citrus Heights, California and Michael and his wife Jessica Bigelow of Murrieta, California; great-grandsons, Maddox and Caden and a host of family and friends.
Marie was preceded in death by: parents; husband, Harold F. Bigelow and sister, Josephine Dickerson.
Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday, January 11, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Lexington, Nebraska with Reverend Jorge Canela as celebrator.
Burial was in Highland Cemetery, Bertrand, Nebraska.
