Alexander married Sarah "Sallie" Elizabeth Burkhalter, daughter of John Michael Burkhalter and Mary Ann Elizabeth Smith on 28 Dec 1876. They had the following children:

Alexander was the paternal grandson of Ephraim DeLoach, b. abt. 1777 in the Beaufort District, SC and d. bet. 1819-1820 in South Carolina. He was married about 1801 to Sarah Durrence, daughter of Welcome William Durrence and Elizabeth Williams, both born in North Carolina.

Alexander was the paternal great grandson of Hardy DeLoach b. abt. 1735 in Edgecombe Co., NC; and Elizabeth Hart, b. 1730 in the Edgefield District of South Carolina.
