Cpl. John Dwain Cabe was killed in action June 3 in Quang Tin Province, Vietnam. Only recently, he had written his parents that he was extending his enlistment in the Marine Corps so he could remain with his work in Vietnam. He was helping train the South Vietnamese in methods of protection for their villages. Johnny Cabe was assigned to Combined Action Platoon 114, Combined Action Company 11 and 3rd Marine Amphibious Force.
