Juanita Wilson of Jefferson City formerly of Tuscumbia, age 86, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Care Center. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on September 26, 1923, daughter of the late Sherman and Effie (Burks) Abbett. On November 7, 1939, in Tuscumbia, Juanita married Olsen Benjamin Wilson, who preceded her in death on June 26, 1979.

She is survived by one son, Dennis Wilson and wife Margie of Tuscumbia; two daughters, Mary Schimsa and husband Bob of Gray Summit and Patsy Wilson of Jefferson City; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Abbett and Kenneth Abbett both of Tuscumbia; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, David Wilson and Larry Wilson; and three brothers, Earcy Abbett, Percy Abbett, and Alfred Abbett.

Services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Gene Edwards will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Tuscumbia.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
