"John W. Franks died at home 107 Lexington Ave. at 10 PM from complications of disease. He was born in Huntingdon County March 24, 1850 and lived in Altoona for 30 years. He learned the upholstery trade with the railroad. He leaves a wife and one son (adopted son John Leo Franks born Lloyd Wills), his father and mother. His father W.(William) J. Franks and one brother Jerome Franks of Altoona, five sisters: Mrs. William Bowers of Kansas City, Esther Bollinger of Chicago, Mrs. Mary Hershey, Mrs. Hannah Ake and Mrs. Kate Murray all of the city. Funeral is scheduled for Friday morning at 8 AM from his home. Interment in St. Johns."
