Geraldine Meyer Bacarella, 73, of Oak Ridge, died Thursday, May 25, 2000, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

Mrs. Bacarella was a member of the United Church, Chapel on the Hill.

She was the daughter of Fred and Eliza Meyer, who are deceased, and she was the widow of Anthony L. Bacarella.

Her family described her as a vital, gifted woman who embraced life with all its joy and pain. Her favorite hymn was "I Come to the Garden Alone" and her favorite Scripture passage was Psalm 51.

Mrs. Bacarella is survived by her son, Leonard A. Bacarella of Murfreesboro; her daughter, Lynn Bacarella Wright of Oak Ridge; her grandchildren, Gabriel L. Wright, L. Alexander Wright and Benjamin D. Wright, all of Oak Ridge; her brother, Chester Meyer of Lantana, Fla.; and her sister, Maybelle Groover of Florida.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Woods officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
