Ronald was born the son of the late Earl and Mildred Sullivan Applegate. Mr. Applegate retired from Armstrong World Industries after 26 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean conflict. Surviving are his wife, the former Elsie Faye Dean, of Bourbonnais, whom he married Dec. 31, 1955, in Streator; three sons, Bruce Applegate, Brent Applegate and Brian Applegate, all of Bourbonnais; two daughters and sons-inlaw, Linda and Rick Rantz, Carol and Andy Wilkins, all of Bourbonnais; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Dallas Applegate of Morris, and Wendall Applegate of Norfolk, Va. His parents are deceased.
