Robert L. Klingler, 89, Ada, died Feb. 11, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital.

He was born, Dec. 23, 1909 in Hardin County to Clem and Emma (Long) Klingler. On April 15, 1933, he married Diamond R. Shrider, and she died Feb. 7, 1999.

Survivors include two sons, Leonard (Barbara) Klingler and Kenneth (Janet) Klingler, both of Ada; two daughters, Marilyn Schick and Carolyn (Jack) Rex, both of Lafayette; one brother, Lester Klingler of Ada; 18 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Leah Baker and infant sister, Isabelle; and four brothers, Harry and Elza Klingler and infant brothers, Earl and Wilbur Klingler.

Mr. Klingler was a farmer and carpenter. He also worked at Neon Products of Lima for several years. He was co-owner of Klingler and Sons Roofing from 1951 to ­1956. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ of Ada, and was a member of the Farm Bureau Council #5 of Allen County.

Services were held Feb. 15 at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Ada, with Ron Briggs, minister, officiating. Burial was in St. Paul Cemetery, Ada. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ, Ada.
