Jonathan Bartholomew bought land in 1821 in Auburn, after one year he sold. Bought land on the Root tract, after three years, he sold. Bought land on the Kirtland tract, after eight years, he sold. Bought no. 37 on the Atwater tract which was his final home. Mr. Bartholomew was a blacksmith by trade which he did while building a nice dwelling house and other necessary buildings. It was his final home.
