Norbert J. Wilda, 39, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wilda, former Devils Lake and Ramsey County residents, died near Joliet, IL, on Monday, July 13, 1959 when the gasoline tank-truck he was driving was involved in a collision with an automobile 10 miles south of Joliet.
He was born in Harding township on what is now the Fred Rance farm on July 2, 1920. The family moved to Joliet, IL, in October of 1923 where they have resided since. Norbert was a veteran of World War II, serving 38 months with the Army Air Corps in India, Tinian, and Guam.
He is survived by his wife, a son, a daughter, his parents, seven brothers and three sisters. Burial was on July 17 in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Joliet, IL.
