D. Carl Miller, 75, of Akeley died at the University Hospital in Minneapolis, Monday, June 6, following heart surgery. He had been hospitalized since May 22. Survivors include his wife, Hildreth; a son, Delbert L. Miller of Akeley; a brother, Lee Miller of St.Paul; and two sisters, Mrs. Lottie Sjoholm of St.Paul and Mrs. Alta Royce of Sgainaw, Mich.; four grandchildren, Mrs. Albert (Carol) Harrison of Portland,Ore., Mrs. Allan (Roberta) Obye of Medford, Ore., LeRoy Miller and Mrs. Gary JoAnn) Cirks, both of Minneapolis; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Earl Miller, in 1951 and by his first wife, Katherine, in l959. Born at Osseo, Wis., Dec. 15, 1890, he was the son of Jacob and Susan Miller. He married T. Katherine Evertz at Hope, ND in October, 1912. For 33 years he owned and operated a farm southeast of Akeley. ....... He retired from farming five years ago, and moved into Akeley. In October 1961 he married Hildreth Burke. Funeral Services were held June 9 at the Akeley Methodist church with Rev. John Willms of the Episcopal church of Wadena officiating. .....Interment was made at Akeley Cemetery. .....
