Lodema E. Cline, wife of Enoch Cline, died at her home three miles south of Exline, after a lingering and painful sickness, all of which she bore with great patience. She was born in Appanoose County, June 12, 1860, and was therefore 36 years, 5 months and 22 days old. She was the daughter of Noah Caster and Hannah Parke Caster.

She was married to Mr. Enoch Cline, on September 4, 1881. They were blessed with one child, little Oteis, who is now ten years old and who with his father survives to mourn the loss of a loving and devoted wife and a kind and tender-hearted mother. They are not without a hope of meeting their loved one again. When quite young she gave her heart to God and has always been a true Christian.

She was at the time of her death a worthy member of the Christian church at Exline, loved and respected by all who knew her. It could truly be applied to her "A good name is better than precious ointment and the day of death than the day of one's birth" Ecclesiastics 7:1.

The funeral was at Exline at 3 o'clock pm, the 5th, T.A. Renfro, of Milton, her former pastor, preaching from Psa, 55-6, after which the remains were followed by many sympathizing relatives and friends to the beautiful cemetery at Exline and tenderly laid beside her father and mother to await the great resurrection. May the good Lord sustain the husband and little son in their deep affliction.
