A resident of Brownsburg, Dan was a devoted son, brother, uncle and friend.
He was raised in Frankfort, graduated from Kokomo Haworth High School in 1972, and attended International Business College, Fort Wayne. He was formerly employed in senior management positions at K&K Insurance Group and Indiana Farmers Mutual Insurance. More recently he served as executive vice president for Employee Benefit Solutions, Lafayette, a family-owned business.
He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Brownsburg. Passionate about life, Dan loved his faith, his family and his friends. He was the kind of friend a friend would love to have, and enjoyed auto racing, fine cars, good music (particularly jazz and blues), sports and travel. He will be remembered for his gentle soul, quiet strength and wise counsel.
Surviving are his parents, Charles and Regina Kallner of W. Lafayette, IN; brother, Casey (Kathy Heninger) Kallner of Ellettsville, IN; sister, Melinda "Mindy" Kallner Anderson (companion Edward Wallis) of W. Lafayette, IN; two nieces, Jennifer (Ryan) Bell of Zionsville, IN, and Kristen Kallner (fiance Matt Hines) of Lebanon; and nephew, Matthew Charles Kallner of Ellettsville, IN.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, November 30, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 2029 S. Ind. 39, Frankfort, IN.
