Homer and Vivian moved from Marlow, OK to Dallas, TX in the mid-to-late 1930s where he initially worked for Johnson Motor Freight Lines. He spent most of his working career as a truck driver for Sunset Motor Lines. In his career he claimed to drive over 6 million miles!
