Mary Ann Graves, 71, Gower, Mo., died unexpectedly Saturday morning at a St. Joseph hospital.
Born in Buchanan County, near Gower on February 11, 1909, she was the daughter of the late William T. and Ida M. Walkup Wadsworth. Mrs. Graves was raised in the Gower area and attended Gower High School. On Dec. 31, 1926, she married Claude Graves, who survives. They lived and farmed in the Gower area since that time.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Graves is survived by two daughters, Wilma Mumford and Louise Walkup, both of Gower, four grandsons; one niece and one nephew.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Gower with burial in the Allen Cemetery at Gower. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 7 until 9.

Mary Ann Graves was born on February 11, 1909 to William T. and Ida M. (Walkup) Wadsworth in Buchanan County near Gower, Missouri.
Mary Ann grew up in the Gower area and attended Gower High School. On December 31, 1926 she was united in marriage to Claude Graves. After their marriage they farmed in the Gower area where they have since resided.
Mary Ann was a member of the Church of Christ.
Mary Ann Graves passed away in St. Joseph, Missouri on Saturday, May 31, 1980 at the age of 71 years, three months and 20 days.
She is survived by her husband Claude Graves, of the home, two daughters Wilma Mumford and Louise Walkup, both of Gower, Missouri, four grandsons, Robert Mumford, Edward Walkup, Gregg Walkup and Scott Walkup, one niece, one nephew, several cousins, and other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ray Wadsworth.
