Mary Alice Ann Eastwood Lang, 91, died November 27, 2009 at Ambassador Manor (Hope Hospice), Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born February 15, 1918 at Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of James Arthur and Sarah Myrtle (Fisher) Welch. She married George Eastwood August 23, 1939 at Great Bend, Kansas. He died August 2, 1974. She then married August Lang September 14, 1985 at Hoisington, Kansas. A lifetime Barton County resident, Mrs. Lang was a bookkeeper and clerk at Cheyenne Drug, Hoisington, for ten years, retiring in September 1985.
Mrs. Lang was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Altar Society, Legion of Mary, and Women's Civic Club, all of Hoisington.

Survivors include her husband, August "Gus" Lang, Great Bend, Kansas; one daughter, Mary Alice Carlile, Colwich, Kansas; one son, Jim Eastwood, Tulsa, Oklahoma; one step-daughter, Dolores Appel, Great Bend, Kansas; two step-sons: Jerome Lang, Hoisington, Kansas; and Gerald Lang, San Francisco, California; three granddaughters: Tracy Rohlman and husband, Gary, Kingman, Kansas; Jennifer VenJohn and husband Dallas, Andale, Kansas; and Heather Rutledge and husband Jared, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; five great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by infant daughter Mary Elizabeth Eastwood; one brother, James A. Welch; and son-in-law Jim Carlile.

Altar Society Rosary will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. Father Dwight Birket will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Hoisington. Friends may call from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, in care of the funeral home.
