Helen Allen, Winterset

Helen J. Allen, 55, of Winterset, died Dec. 16, at her home. Funeral services were Dec. 19 at Collins Funeral Home. The Rev. John Shaull officiated with burial at the North McDonald Cemetery.

She was born Jan. 22, 1939 in Sunken Grove to John Riley and Vera Irene (Haudeshell) Jackson. She married Robert P. Allen in Grant City, Mo., on Dec. 5, 1959. She was a cook for Montross Pharmacy and was a member of the First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her father; one son; and one daughter.

Surviving relatives include her mother; her husband; one son, Matthew Allen of Winterset; two brothers, Jim Jackson of Wyoming and John Jackson of Wisconsin; three sisters, Bonnie Rockor of Seward, Nebr., Wilm Bogatzke of Manning and Verna Sporleder of Elk Horn; and five grandchildren.
