aka Arlington Minich

He married Matilda lnu. and fathered Delnorte "Lottie" (b. 05/03/63 - married Frederick C. Boesch). In 1860, he was a laborer presumably living in York Borough, York County, Pennsylvania, although he is not found in that census. He stood 5' 11" tall and had dark hair and blue eyes.

A Mexican War veteran, he also served two terms of service in the Civil War:
1. Enlisted in Harrisburg June 15, 1861, and mustered into federal service there June 20 as 1st lieutenant of Battery E, 1st Pennsylvania Light Artillery (43rd Pennsylvania). Charged with being drunk while on duty as officer of the day at Camp Griffin, Virginia, he pleaded guilty before a court-martial that included Maj. Gen. Winfield Scott Hancock, and dishonorably discharged to date February 28, 1862.
2. Enlisted in York November 13, 1862, and mustered into federal service at Harrisburg November 18 as a private with Battery D, 3rd Pennsylvania Heavy Artillery (152nd Pennsylvania). Promoted to sergeant. date unknown (possibly shortly after muster), he was reduced to ranks May 16, 1863, but re-appointed sergeant to date July 15, 1863. He honorably discharged by general order June 25, 1865, at Fortress Monroe, Virginia.

His brief death notice in The York Daily makes no mention of military service but does note that members of York's Sedgwick Post No. 37, G.A.R., attended his funeral, although it is not certain if he had been a member of that organization. He was at times referred to with the surname of "Muench" and with a first name of "Arlington," both of which appear to be misinterpretations of his actual names.
