On Dec. 3, 1935 he married Grace G. Gerard in Geneva, Neb.
A cattle rancher, Mr. Steinbock moved to Waverly from Byers in 1946. From 1960-80, he lived in the Milliken and Fort Collins areas and had lived in Fort Collins since 1980. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Collins.
Survivors are his wife, Grace G. Steinbock of Fort Collins; four sons, Brent of Fort Collins, Carroll of Morrill, Neb., Sheldon of Taos, NM, and Lance of Loveland; a half sister, Barbara Reichert of Salina, Kan.; a half brother, Frank Reichert of Hays; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A granddaughter and two grandsons are deceased.
A prayer vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Warren-Bohlender Funeral Chapel in Fort Collins. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Resthaven Memory Gardens, south of Fort Collins.
Contributions may be made to the Joe Steinbock Memorial Fund for the Blind in care of the funeral chapel.
