79, of Tullahoma, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006, at Harton Regional Medical Center. E.C. Stone Jr. was born on Nov. 7, 1926, in Sparta, the son of the late Everett “Clarence” Stone Sr. and Clara Belle Kent. E.C. graduated from Central High School in Manchester and completed two tours of active duty in the U.S. military, having served in both the U.S. Army and Air Force in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. Following that, he worked in various positions in Tullahoma until he met and married the late Wilma “Jean” Brandon Stone of the Brandontown Road Community in Coffee County on Nov. 3, 1956. E.C. retired from the U.S. Postal Service as postmaster in Lynchburg. His survivors are a daughter, Sherrie Bouchard-Jenkins and husband Earl Jenkins, Hendersonville; son, Everett C. Stone III, San Francisco, Calif.; grandchildren, Sgt. John Bouchard (USMC) and wife Lora, Tullahoma, Tracie Shoemaker and husband (Sgt. USMC), Sebring, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Tyner Shoemaker, Kayla Bouchard, and Kaitlyn Shoemaker; two brothers, Ralph Stone, Maryville, and Dean Stone, Tullahoma; three sisters, Margaret Fletcher, McMinnville; Jean Robertson, Tullahoma, and Betty Ruth Parrish, Winchester; many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Visitation with the family will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Sept. 8, at Tullahoma Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
