From the June 22, 1957 issue of the Illinoian Star newspaper, Beardstown, Illinois: (This obituary is partially obscured, therefore it is a summary of the information gleaned from the existing parts.) Mrs. Lula Mae Stinson passed away at her home near Arenzville on June 21, 1957. She had been confined to her bed for a week and had been ailing for several years. She was born in Cass County in 1872, the daughter of Carolyn Reining. She was a lifetime resident of Cass County. She married William Stinson on March 28, 1900. Five sons and three daughters were born to this union. Her husband and one daughter preceded her in death. She is survived by five sons, Bert, Amos, Earl, Raymond and ? and two daughters, Mrs. Ber???? of Arenzville and Mrs. ? of Chapin, 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Cline Funeral home with a Revered from Bluff Springs officiating. Friends may call at the Cline Funeral home on Sunday. Burial will be in the Arenzville cemetery.
