Leonides Archer, age 84, died at his home in the north part of town Thursday. Mr. Archer was born in Kentucky October 18, 1839. The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at the residence, with Rev. J.E. Evans officiating and interment in the Marshall cemetery.
Mr. Archer was a veteran of the Civil war and had been a successful business man in Marshall for a number of years but was retired at the time of his death.
Four old soldiers attended the funeral in a body. They were James Myers, F.R. Dow, Barley Dow and A.L. Howerton.
The deceased leaves to mourn for him, his wife and one daughter, Lola, and son, Frank.
