Elsie Carver Robinson was a native of Bon Secour, AL, a longtime resident of Saraland, AL, and a 15 year resident of Orange Beach, AL. She was born April 18, 1935 and went to be with Jesus on November 15, 2007. She was a current member of First Baptist Church of Gulf Shores.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Winnie Cooper and Lewis E. Carver. Mrs. Robinson is survived by her husband, William Tommy Robinson, Jr.; three children, Deborah Robinson Nelson (Pat), William Gary Robinson (Maria) and Janet Robinson Raines (Terry); seven grandchildren, Lauren Nelson, Amanda Robinson Gilliland (Brett), Patrick Nelson, Shelley Robinson, Derek Raines, Lindsey Robinson and Haley Raines; two sisters, Jean Carver Scott and Faye Carver, many close friends and extended family.
She and Tommy were high school sweethearts at Vigor High School where she was a member of the first graduating class. They married at age 17 and celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on November 5th, 2007. She worked alongside him through their marriage and she always had a passion for gardening and flowers, studying the Word and helping other people.
Visitation will be held Sunday, November 18, 2007 from 4 to 7pm at First Baptist Church of Gulf Shores. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 19, 2007 at 2pm at First Baptist Church of Gulf Shores. Interment will follow in Pine Rest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Gulf Shores Building Fund, 2200 West First Street, Gulf Shores, AL 36542.
