Mrs. Jacob Traxler
Nancy Elizabeth Hershey, was born in Huron, County, Ohio, May 23, 1849, and died at her home in Montpelier early Monday morning, December 15, 1919, aged10 years, 6 months, 22 days. In October, 1865, with her family she came to Williams county, where they settled in Northwest township and where she grew to womanhood.
On February 17, 1865, she was united in marriage to Jacob Traxler, and they settled in Northwest township where they lived for 29 years, moving to Montpelier in 1894, where they have resided the last 25 years. Two children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Traxler: Mrs Minnie Snell of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and W. R. Traxler of Montpelier. These with the bereaved husband, two grand-children, two sisters and four brothers remain to mourn the loss of her to whose memory we pay the last services of respect and love today.
For many years Mrs. Traxler was a member of the Christian Union church of Northwest township but later united with, and through the years continued a member of the Presbyterian church of this place. Sister Traxler was a good Christian woman, industrious and home loving; she was a kind and obliging neighbor and friend, a devoted wife and a faithful and loving mother. Stricken suddenly while still busy with life's duties, the daily service of her home affairs, having lived a good life here she has passed on with confidence and faith to that larger and fuller life.

"That part of me that from earth hath come,
Let earth take back again when comes the hour,
That makes of my achievement the full sum
And sets the limit to my feeble power.
But that which of the spirit is in me,
Let no earth-creditor of me demand;
To earth give earth's, to immortality
The gift divine from the Immortal Hand"
