HIGHLAND
Charles Lasley, the 14-year-old son of Eugene Lasley, died Sat. Jan. 28, presumably from the effects of a goiter. The funeral services were conducted at the Union church, by Miss Nora Cousins, after which the remains were interred in the Shearer cemetery. Miss Cousins was a former schoolmate of the deceased. Charley is said to have been a dutiful and obedient child and the idol of the family, hence it seems that God in His infinite wisdom sees fit to take the ones that is nearest prepared to meet Him.
