OBITUARY: Frank F. Woodburn

Frank F. Woodburn, 101, of Escondido, CA., died Monday, April 9, 2007, at Life Care Center of Escondido. He was born Nov. 20, 1905, in Chihuahua, Mexico, the son of Frank Coventry and Ana Gallardo (Nunez) Woodburn.

During World War II, he worked for the Santa Fe Shops in Topeka as an interpreter for the many workers that came from Mexico. He worked at Ed Marlings Home Furnishings before retiring. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Downtown Kiwanis, and Toastmasters. He has lived in Escondido for the past 23 years.

Frank was married to Dorothy Alice Dean, who survives of the home in Escondido.

Committal services will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 16, 2007, at Rochester Cemetery, 1200 NW Menninger Road, Topeka with Rev. James Keller officiating.

Frank will lie in state after 2:30 PM, Sunday, April 15, 2007, at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka where the family will receive friends from 2:30 to 4:00 PM. To leave a special message for the family online, visit www.PenwellGabel.com.
