Resided in Manchester in Lancastershire (about 8o miles northwest of Coventry). He died at Rowley, Mass. in 1657, aged 81 years. His tombstone still remains at Rowley.

Arnold Corkins adds:
Henry Sewall may have married firstly Mary Cawarden, daughter of Thomas Cawarden of Mavesyn Ridware and Ann (Unknown), on 21 October 1601 at St. Nicholas, Mavesyn Ridware, Staffordshire, The name is the only suggestion that Henry was of the Coventry Sewalls.(1)

He was married before Ann Hunt. His first wife was indeed married to Mary Cawarden and she is the mother of Henry not Ann Hunt. Mary died in England and then he married Anne Hunt and Ellen Mosley. Citation:

Published in the Piscataquis (ME) Observer 26 Sep 1878 p2: "A CURIOUS EPITAPH---Jos. Brown, Esq., left at the Whig office the following verbatim copy of an inscription found on a tomb stone in a cemetery in Newbury, Mass.:

Mr. Henry Sewall (sent by Mr. Henry Sewall his father, in ye ship Elsabeth & Dorcas, Capt. Watts, commander) arrived in Boston 1634. Wintered at Ipswich. Helped begin this Plantation 1635 Furnishing English Servants. Neat Cattell and Provisions. Married Mrs. Jane Dummer March ye 26, 1646 Died May ye 25---1700 Ætat 86. His Fruitful Vine being thus disjoined fell to ye ground Jan ye 13 following Ætat 74. Psal 27---10.

It's impossible for Mary Cawarden to be the mother of Rev. Henry Sewall III. He is definitely the son of Henry & Anne Hunt. They were married in 1614 and Henry III was born in June 25, 1615 while Anne Hunt was married to Henry II.

Mary Cawarden either married another Henry Sewall (as there are two who were born same year (1576) but died many years apart.

I find legimate findings of 3 marriages for Henry Sewall II - Mary ??, Anne Hunt, then Ellen Mosley. There are claims he married a Jane Lowe. Again I believe that could be the other Henry Sewall born 1576 because the Death Years for that Henry seem to be consistent for Jane Lowe and not Anne or Ellen.
More research & proof is necessary.
